Simple Machines at Home

Simple machines are machines that make work easier by allowing us to push or pull. I did not realize how many different objects I had in my apartment that are considered simple machines!

The top of my nail polish is a screw. The screw helps hold the two objects together.

This is an example of a lever. It helps move a load, the nail. Scissors are also another example of a lever.

An inclined plane can be my shower. It is a slanting surface connecting a lower level to a
higher level

An example of a wheel and axle is a can opener. A can opener can also be considered a screw and a lever.

An example of a pulley would be window blinds. It uses wheels to help move and lower something.

I could not find any wedge in my apartment but an example would be a reclining chair.

Simple machines are found all over my apartment. The majority of the time I use them without even knowing it. Without them, my life wouldn't be as easy!
